Virginia Joiner Pryor, aged 89, died Thursday, 1 April 2010 at Hopkinsville, KY.  Mrs. Pryor, a native of LaFayette, was born 2 April 1920 to the late Richard Martin and Calolie Clarke Joiner.  She worked in food service for the Christian County Board of Education and was a member of the Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Pryor was a third-generation Cumberland Presbyterian, following her great-grandfather, an elder in the late nineteenth century and her grandfather.  She was a Sunday School teacher, served as an officer at the local and presbyterial levels, and worked in church camps as both a cook and a teacher.

Services were held at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with Rev Steve Guarneros officiating.  Interment in Flat Lick Cemetery followed.  Memorials may be made to the Flat Lick Cemetery No. 1, or to the charity of the donor's choice
